PRIVATE
PILOT

 

The starting point for most new pilots. Pilots learn how to control the airplane and plan cross countries. Allows you to fly with passengers in visual meteorological conditions (VMC).

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of age to begin flight training

  • At least 17 Years old to acquire the PPL

  • 20 Hours of air instruction

  • 10 Hours of solo flight

  • 40 Hours total

  • Written Exam

  • Checkride

INSTRUMENT
PILOT

 

The next step to becoming a safer and better pilot. Learn how to fly based solely on the instruments in the cockpit. 

Requirements

  • Holds at least a Private Pilot Certification

  • 50 Hours of Cross Country Experience as  Pilot in Command (PIC)

  • 40 Hours of instrument time

  • A cross country of >250 Miles

  • Written Exam

  • Checkride

COMMERCIAL
PILOT

 

The first step of an aviation career. Learn more demanding maneuvers and become more knowledgeable about aircraft systems. Allows you to earn money from flying.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age

  • 250 Hours of total flight time

  • 100 Hours of PIC time

  • 50 Hours in cross country flight

  • 10 Hours in a complex or technologically advanced aircraft (TAA)

  • 20 Hours of training

  • 10 Hours of instrument training

  • 3 Cross country requirements

  • Written Exam

  • Checkride

CERTIFIED
FLIGHT
INSTRUCTOR

 

One of the most popular ways for new pilots to gain hours. Learn how to teach other pilots in an efficient and safe manner.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Holds either a commercial license or ATP license

  • Received training in relevant fields of flight instruction

  • Fundamentals of Instruction Exam

  • Written Exam

  • Checkride
